Eliezer Yudkowsky

Eliezer Yud­kowsky is, with Nick Bostrom, one of the cofounders of value al­ign­ment the­ory. He is the founder of the Ma­chine In­tel­li­gence Re­search In­sti­tute. He is the in­ven­tor of time­less de­ci­sion the­ory and ex­trap­o­lated vo­li­tion, the co-in­ven­tor with Mar­cello Her­reshoff of the tiling agents prob­lem that kicked off the study of Vingean re­flec­tion, and so on and so on. His spe­cial­iza­tions in­clude log­i­cal de­ci­sion the­ory, nat­u­ral­is­tic re­flec­tion, and pin­point­ing the failure modes in de­sign pro­pos­als for ad­vanced AIs.
