Decit

A decit, or “dec­i­mal digit” (also known as a “dit”, “ban”, or “hartley”) is the amount of in­for­ma­tion re­quired to sin­gle out one thing from a set of ten. That is, a decit is a mea­sure of in­for­ma­tion equal to \(\log_2(10)\approx 3.32\) shan­nons.
